Alanna Thompson
I live in the beautiful Comox Valley, BC and have called this place home since 2013. As part of maintaining my own wellness, I venture into the mountains and forests nearby, or you can find me at, in or on the water.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and a professional member in good standing of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I earned my Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia.
I bear witness to the struggles and the incredible strength of the human spirit in my work. It is an honour to support individuals and groups in taking a proactive approach with their mental health, and to be there for guidance in the aftermath of a critical incident. I am incredibly fortunate to work with frontline workers and first responders. I am familiar with the specific challenges of this work and its potential impacts on individual wellness and close relationships.
With an approachable, practical style, I work with you to delve into the challenges, recognize skills and resources, and identify strategies to both restore and enhance your mental health and connections to the most important people and activities in your life.
